What is a Network Topology

Network Topology,

Friends,
Here here I am with my new post. In this post I have described Network topology.

Network topology:-

Friends, Network topology can be defined as a arrangement of various elements (links, nodes, etc.) of a computer on a logical network. Essentially it is a topological structure of a network and maybe detecting physically or logically.

Types of network topology:-

1)Star Topology:-

In this topology, there is a host computer storing all the data and information which is connected to the local computers. Local computers are not linked directly to each other.

2)Ring Topology:-

In this communication system there is no computer as such to transmit the data centrally. Thus there is no 'controlling computer' in this network all the local computers are connected to each other in a ring arrangement.

3)Complete Topology:-

In this topology all the local computers are connected to one another. The control is given to each computer to decide communication priorities.

4)Multipoint Topology:-

In this topology, a signal transmission medium is shared by all the terminals. When a particular computer wants to send a message to another computer system check whether the communication line is free or not.

5)Hybrid Topology:-

It is defined as a combination of two or more topologies. Here you can find the star topology is combined with the ring topology and complete topology. In fact the configuration of network depends upon the need of the organisational structure of the company.

So, friends all the types of Network Topology is over.
