Computer network.
What is computer network? why computer network built?
Here are the answers.
The term computer network means system of interconnected points or terminals. It shares the resource of a series of interconnected computers , peripherals and terminals.
In 1960, USSR and USA involved in cold war. In order to send and receive some urgent messages USA built a medium of electronic text to communicate with their army bases.
Advantages of computer network:-the advantages of computer networks are:-
1)Information can be shared easily to the people.
2)It helps to stay updated with the world total events.
3)It helps in sharing resources ex. A laser printer print a softcopy into hardcopy through the help of computer network.
4)Interaction among the people of the world become more easy through social media .
5)E-mail allows you to send and receive messages electronically.
Types of Computer Networks:- There are total five types of computer networks . Computer networks are classified according to the hardware and software technology used in the networks.
The types of computer network are:-
1)Personal Area Network (PAN):- This network is used to built communication between computers within 20-30 feet.
2)Local Area Network (LAN):- this type of communication network interconnects large number of computer and other peripheral devices.
3)Campus Area Network (CAN):- This network connect two or more local area networks that are limited to specific geographical areas.
4)Metropolitan Area Network (MAN):- This network connect two or more local area networks or campus area networks together.
5)Wide Area Network (WAN):- A wide area network is a digital communication system which interconnects a large number of computers in a wide area. This type of communication network can operate worldwide.
Friends I think that 70℅ of the people didn't know difference between a LANs and WANs.
Friends difference is that, LAN is a digital network that is limited to specific geographical area while WANs is a also a digital network that can be operated in nationwide or worldwide basis.
